After serving on active duty in the United States Army, I became a social worker. I began my career serving children, adolescents, parents, and families, in their home, school, and community settings. As my career progressed I began to understand the awesome impact & influence that traumatic experiences have in our lives. It’s remarkable how much power we have to heal ourselves from within if we take the time to attend to ourselves and our history. ADHD, anxiety, and depression are all symptomatic of and impacted by the experiences we’ve had. How we cope, make decisions, and experience emotional wellness are all developed by our life experiences. How we react to our experiences and feelings can change over time. Emotional wellness is the ability to handle life's stresses and adapt to change. Healthy coping mechanisms can help improve mental health.
